Hi everyone
My babies are due in two days and I can see two of my twenty three eggs in the incubator moving. I can also hear some little chirps so I'm hoping that's a good sign.

I've got three silver laced bantam polish, six araucanas, four Cochin, five welsummers and five barnevelder. I've also got six Marans under my broody hen. I'm very excited and am watching the incubator like a tv!

Being hatched by a broody silkie for Dec 16-20th

Blue silkie hen bred by buff silkie roo = 2 fresh eggs
White silkie hen maybe bred by buff silkie roo = 1 fresh egg
Blue silkie hen bred by buff roo = 2 experimental fridge eggs (were in fridge a week or so)

Hoping to get at leased the 2 fresh eggs to hatch.....

White hen is mean to roo so idk if he has actually bred her or not her egg probly not even fertile.
Not holding much hope for fridge eggs but I read others had done it before so I figured I would shoot for the stars

Then today I pulled her off the nest to drink and stretch and she was going back in her nest after a few minutes and bites to eat so I went inside.
Came out a couple hours later to tuck all birds in for the night and found her in the wrong nest and eggs cold! Its like 42-44 deg here tonight...... I think the roo bugged her when she was getting in nest and so she went to whatever box she could get into to get away from him. He drives her crazy! Dumb teen aged roo

Probly just lost em all but I put her back in the right spot over eggs and left. We will see next week i guess. I will try to candle them then.

Cross your fingers please

Hi Everyone !

This thread has been busy since I last was on !

(I didn't want to get on this Dec. thread until it was officially December !)

We now have 23 eggs in the incubator (11 BB Red OEG bantams, 8 Ameraucanas, 4 Marans) !

Every day we obtain a few more eggs. We are almost at 15 Ameraucana eggs and then time to pair off 2 more Ameraucanas, probably of standard color. We plan on always hatching out Marans eggs from now on (our only LF breed we sell). I'm sure we'll cap off on the BB Red OEGs when we reach 30 or so (whatever Korbin decides to do about them).

We are expecting our first chickie of this batch on Dec. 7th (not much longer to wait !).

Check out our home page: I put up a cute new holiday photo for you guys.

I'll have to keep an eye on you ! My husband loves phoenix chickens. We probably won't get any until the children move out of the house and take their chickens with them. We have a long time to wait though...they are 12.5 and 6 yrs. old.

But it will be fun to see Phoenix chickies and their parents.

Thanks for the link ! Sounded interesting to check out. But your webcam is not live at the moment.

I'm going to take some videos when our chickies are hatched and post them on our site. Not as good as live, but it will be sufficient (as long as I use my husband's phone to take video).

Let me know when you webcam is up and running again !

Thanks,
Lisa
