First time incubating eggs. Last one (#24) has pipped and should hatch later today. Had a total of 28 fertile eggs in incubator, added them to the incubator over a period of 9 days. So far have 23 healthy chicks. Had a 4 1/2 hour power outage durning night about mid way, incubator got down to 80°. All small pullet eggs, hens had just started laying in October. Experimented with 2 washed and refrigerated eggs, both hatched fine. Started saving eggs 2 days after getting rid of rooster. No eggs were fertile after 13th day after rooster was gone. 1 egg pipped breach but hatched fine with no help and chick is doing great. Did not use hygrometer but filled troughs per instructions. Could not do lockdown because of different hatch dates. Removed hatched chicks every 24 hours. Had to remove unhatched eggs twice to clean and sanitizer incubator. Considering everything, very happy with success.

Hey guys,
This is my first time hatching. I am nervous as I really want everything to go well. To keep myself from checking in on them constantly, I set up a youtube live stream. This way I can pull out my phone and look to see what, if anything, is happening. So far... nothing. Keeping my fingers crossed though. I'm on day 20 so far. Wish me luck.

I set 8 barred rocks last Friday 11/17 . This is my first go at incubating and am way to excited. This is my hens first laying season so I may not have a great hatch rate but excited to learn all I can!!

I set 4 BR 11/23, one didn't develop and fairly sure one has died, other 2 taking up most of the room in egg and can see movement when candle. How did your hatch go? This is my first time and have tried to be diligent to care for them right but still lot to learn

Hope your hatch goes well, keep us updated. We are very partial to our BR hens, good layers and great personalities.

Thank you, pretty sure we've got 2 that are viable, I can't see blood ring in 3rd one but it's not moving and only taking up 1/3 of the egg as the other two pretty much cover the entire inside, the hens are the best and very docile, rooster not so much lol
