Who's laying all these eggs?

Yes, my EEs always laid the green eggs...but I have seen some long ago that laid brown eggs.

Broke their hearts too, the kid's who had these EEs. They wanted the coloured eggs so bad, and got the regular old brown ones. They were classic EE as well tho... with the muffs and beards and hawk like faces. They still loved their EEs but they were so disappointed in no green eggs.

I have 5 EE's and only 2 of them lay blue/green eggs. One lays a pinkish egg and every so often I get an olive egg (like once a month) but the other two lay plain old brown eggs.

Got another pink egg today. I think we must have got an EE instead of a Ameracauna. I have figured out the difference between the Barred Rocks eggs and the EE's. Now I am wondering if someone else is laying as well cause we did find three eggs in one day. I will check later today and see if there is another one. It would be great if the SLW we thought might be a roo is laying alreadya s well. Thanks for all the input!

If you ordered your birds from a hatchery they are most likely EE. They label them as Americaunas and Aracunas even tho they arent that breed. They are decended from them, true, but they are really just mutts with the eggs colour gene.

To get a true representative of those breeds, I would think you need to find a breeder cos the hatcheries are not true ones.

Got two more eggs today. One looks like our PBR's egg the other looks kind of like the pink one I found yesterday, but it is smaller. I am wondering if the little SLW I thought was a Roo is actually laying as well. Or is our EE laying us an egg a day???? I wish I could catch them in the act. The only one I have seen for sure is the PBR. Do SLW eggs look a little pinkish/tan? It was smaller than the other egg we got today and the one we got yesterday. Good problem to have if I don't say!
