Summer has been horrible here!! Humidity is out of sight! Fall is my favorite time of the year!!! Can't wait!!!!!

Today the high is supposed to be 80F here in Central NC and it's sunny but breezy. Virtually no humidity. Tonight it's supposed to be down to the mid-50's. Time to throw open the windows at night. Fall's here!!! I'm so over summer, the heat and the humidity. Time for Fall!!!

I'm really excited to see summer gooooooo! Living in the desert is only fun from October until mid May. This winter will be so wonderful! I have my first chicks ever and I am getting ready to put a winter garden in. The chicks are patiently awaiting the cooler temps too. For now they are in the living room peeking out over the brooder wall at me. Yesterday's temp was 112! Too hot for my 1 1/2 week old babies but fall is coming! Yoo Hoo!

Not that I have any choice... *grumbles*

We went from 80+ at night (well above the 75 max needed for tomatoes to fruit) down to 50's at night (well below the 65 minimum) over night...

And 10-1 it'll be back up to highs next week... so the heat'll seem worse than it is... or rather was last week when we were all used to it...

Fickle lady that Mother Nature... fickle indeed.

It is NOT supposed to get that cold here... not this early... MAYBE end of Sept, in an early year... more likely early October... with our first real "cold" expected around Halloween... I say around but Hallows could be 30 or it could be 90 (at night)... never know until a few days out... have to have a backup in case it's cold costume... I have a feeling we'd better go with the cold and have a backup 'if it's warm' instead.

I don't think this bodes well at all... neither does MIL... it's just too early... but I guess if we're going to have a long/cold winter...
