Who's Setting Eggs This Week[end]? [August 8-14]

Today I got into my bee hive and harvested some honey

I think my digital thermometer is messed up. It's reading is way off the manual thermometer...the regular thermometer says its 105 and the digital says 100...I hope it's not that far off. I'm going to be really upset if that expensive digital pos ruins what few eggs I've got in there

I'm in the same boat. I have glass thermometer reading 100 and 2 digitals (one reading 93 and one 98.6). Drives me nuts with them so far off.

Holy COW! That's awesome. I'm so scared of bees but I've always wanted a hive! Congratulations on a great harvest!

Yeah, I don't understand what's going on!

I'm going to trust the digital because all of the glass ones I've used have given me different numbers too.

do you have one of those oral thermometers? You can make a zip lock bag filled with water and put that glass thermometer in there... Put it in the bator and by the end of the day this will give you the eggs internal temp. THAT is the temp I would worry about...hopefully that is not too hot...

i scrolled from the bottom up and that honey glass on the bottom was looking like a heifeviesen... white yeast beer from germany... my mouth was watering..lol

I'll have to pick one up. My glass thermometers are all outside ones.

I think I've found that if I keep my digital reading at 98, then my glass thermometer reads right at 99.5-100.....

So if this is right, I'm screwed, because my 101-102 temp spikes were really 103-104 :/ Crap.

I did just email the lady I bought the English Orps from and asked her if she'd be willing to sell me 8 eggs for a lower price than what I paid. She hasn't responded yet, and I'd hate to leave negative feedback on ebay but I'm really irritated that I got the short end of the stick on this one.

The eggs should have been wrapped and then shipped in an eggcrate inside a double box stuffed with newspaper...not thrown in a box with 3 sheets.
[Sorry, I'm just still really irritated about that]

So here is the package job my silkie eggs came in i think she did a fantastic job! Not one loose air cell and they all look great
