Who's Setting Eggs This Week[end]? [August 8-14]

WRV
Have you srt you 3 eggs?Fingers are double crossed they all hatch .Dont you have one English left to hatch.?

I started them on Thursday night and so far NOTHING IS GROWING :(
I picked up 6 Orps for a local lady here and 4 SLW from the guy I bought my pullets from so there are 13 eggs and nothing seems to be growing. The air cells in the 3 eggs that survived where detached and looked pretty messed up.

BUTTTTTTT.....

The lady I bought the eggs from said that she'd collect some more eggs for me this week and we'd work out a price. She said she feels awful about it. I did offer to pay a reasonable price for 7-8 more Orp eggs from her plus shipping, I just can't afford another $70 batch...PLUS I'll be able to set them up in the new brinsea incubator!!

Today's looking pretty good right now!

Just set 10 eggs today...
Due Sept. 1st.
Happy Hatching everyone!

Hey calichick mine are due Sept 1 too.Light Bahmas. They ate show stock someone wanted Hope i get 5 then i will keep one also.Think they are so pretty.
Haha i complain my butt off about low hatch yet hope springs eternal.

Question for those that are on their 3rd hatch (or more) this year. Can we talk about how we are juggling these flocks? I have the bator in the spare room, the brooder in the mud room, the run separated into two areas, and two separate roost areas in the coop. The kids get shifted around depending on their age/size. Eventually hope to all be integrated. Except for the roos. Anybody need a Black Copper Marans Roo (or 4) in Southern California?

My digital thermometer reads 1.4 degrees lower than the temp actually is, and the humidity reads low too by 9%. I know this because I put it in my Octagon 20 incubator that has auto temp and humidity to check it. I use an oral (by mouth) digital thermometer and put it on top of the eggs to check the temps (start, read then turn off kind) periodically to check temps when setting up my Genesis 1588 for hatching. It has been pretty accurate. The thermometers that come with incubators are not reliable.

Hope your new incubator comes quick! You are going to love it!
I think my digital thermometer is messed up. It's reading is way off the manual thermometer...the regular thermometer says its 105 and the digital says 100...I hope it's not that far off. I'm going to be really upset if that expensive digital pos ruins what few eggs I've got in there

I am SO happy for you!

Im a first year beekeeper too. I got my bees in may and this is what I have got from just three frames out of one of my top hive box. I have 2 five frame box hive and they say that a five frame box makes more honey then a ten frame and so far I believe it. my bottom box is absolutely LOADED with honey but Im leaving that for them for the winter.

All that honey uuummmLove it.14 lbs?I had no idea you could get so much!
Ya its alot and its only from a small section of their hive there is probly close to 80 pounds left in there but I left that for the bees to eat over the winter. I wish I could set a sampler out on here for everyone to taste lol
