Who's Setting Eggs This Week[end]? [August 8-14]

First chick hatched while I was at baby shower! Looks like one of the mixed chicks. I've got 9 BCMs, 5 BBS Orps and 5 crosses. The crossed chicks are MF Banty Cochin over a LCO hen, it has feathered feet. : )

Tthis WEd i have lockdown. Seems like this bunch took forever but it i set these later than my last
I havent been as conscious of humidity its dropped to 23 a couple times Guuug Hope it didnt hurt them. Only had 12 eggs in this time The others had about 20 or more..this was harder to keep the humidity up.From now on i will set at least 20 way easier.Brookhaven someplace i saw you said BBS are hard to hatch out.!I didnt know that.No wonder i just got little Midnight.

I normally only set 6-8 shipped eggs to hatch. And with shipping, hatch rate is low. But only the hens seem to hatch I guess.

Tried with 2 hatches this time. first group...bubbles. Not going to get anything. The second batch looks like 7 out of 10. Which I am very happy about!!!
 
Here's the first little dumplin. 3 More pipped as well, more babies by tomorrow?? There's a first day of school story for the kiddos.

We lockdown tomorrow afternoon! Very very excited to see what hatches :) May do my last candling tonight to make sure all 7 eggs are in order and ready to go. Hopefully we'll have chicks in the next few days!

How do you get them to hold still??? Even with my good camera they bob their heads so fast I can't get anything but speed chicken photos! lol

I go in lockdown the same time as you! I'll have to keep an eye on your posts to see who's hatches first ;) :P
