They were from my dad. He told me they were RIR. I guess he slipped in a light braham egg with the RIRs.

And.... Guess what!!!?? I kept the eggs I had given up on in the bator and SURPRISE!! Got a baby today! and not just ANY baby, It's an English Orp and either blue or Splash (I can't tell for sure yet). Guess this ends my, 3 Orps Only curse!!

That is REALLy awesome!!Maybe their is still hope for more....

Ok guy now that im finally able to stay awake for a few min I wanted to tell my story, so this morning at 7 I went in for my third surgery to reconstruct my foot, anyways the nurse told me as soon as I was coming out of anisthesia I asked her how were my eggs? lol

I dont remember that but I also yelled at my poor husband the whole 45 min deive home, telling him to hurry up I need to check my eggs! poor guy any ways, no babies yet for me not even a pip. I got some slow babies,

OMG. That's sooo funny! [not that you had surgery, but that you woke up asking for your eggs!]

When I had surgery, I woke up asking the nurse to shoot me...I was in so much pain and I vaguely remember her pumping morphine into my IV!

Sounds like something I would do...LOL. They are waiting for you to recuperate a little so you can take care of them.

WRVgirl: Yes, the Imported English Orps are quite expensive. I paid $50 for my first dozen (without shipping) and $100 for the second breeder's 30 eggs. I hope to diversify the genetics some by crossing the 2 lines.

Too funny. I had that happen with my last hatch. We have tree frogs that serenade us all night and sometimes they sound just like chicks. When my first chick hatched I thought it was a tree frog chirping.
