Who's Setting Eggs This Week[end]? [August 8-14]

Ok humidity is up to 65 now and 47 in the room. I really don't want to open it if i don't have too since i still have some pips. I am eating my nails waiting on these guys geez this is nerve racking! I am still in the same boat as of now the 2 are zipped but won't hatch grrrrr and i have some pips that keep pushing out the membrane a bit so i know they are ok. That one has made the zip a bit wider but still seems in the same position so i don't know

on a good note the one that has hatched is doing wonderful up and moving around almost all dry now.

I am currently on day 21 so how long can this go on lol i have several that have not pipped yet as well 3 of which are my splash that i really want how frustrating
I hope things are going better for you.
If it was me I would help. In my experience zipping is pretty fast - from 2 hours to just 20 minutes sometimes. If that chick has been half in half out all day-- that's just too long. Go ahead and pop off the top cap and see if it can get out. Is the egg cap caught on anything-- is the egg restricted from breaking open in some way. Be sure all obstructions are clear.
The chicks pip and get air from the outside. The time from that first pip until they start to zip can be 12 - 24 hours (more or less). This is when they are absorbing their yolk sack. Once they are zipping they should be ready to come out ASAP.
Good Luck!!

I don't know cause i had one zip out in 20 min that had not finished absorbing and now it's dead. Update as of today is this i had another one that was just pipped yesterday hatched this morning and doing well i have a new pipped egg and the 2 that were zipping yesterday are still in the same position but still breathing. i have 3 eggs pipped right now and the 2 slow zippers what to do what to do? i thin i will call them dumb and dumber cause they just don't seem to have the gumption to get out lol. Those eggs have plenty of room to hatch and there is nothing in there for them to catch on but thanks for the suggestions if by this afternoon they don't come out i will intervene i guess i will have to lock myself in the bathroom with shower on and try to pop them out and pray i don't kill the others in the process. See i am scared to open it cause i already killed some opening the bater on my last hatch and only one survived there so i am trying to sit on my hands and avoid a repeat of that.

If they have been zipped 25 hours yeah i would takea little shell off.I wouldnt touch the membrane though.

Ok i could not stand it so i helped! The 2 i have pipped are the only ones alive from the eggs so i think i may have again killed them when i opened the bater to get the one out yesterday with the broken yolk sac sigh..... so i helped out the ones that were zipped and they were ready for sure just stuck not sticky but just a little shrink wrapped i guess i wet them with warm water and a q-tip and got them out and they are very alive just laying on their backs is this ok???? Will they be ok or retarded? I have a feeling i may need to help the other 2 at this point as well one has been pipped since yesterday and the other pipped over night. I may leave the one that pipped over night and just open the pip a little more then up the humidity and hope it comes out on its own. What do you all think of my plan?

I helped one it was getting all crusty. I have had to wash it under warm water a few times. The last time with a liquid soap ( like on the commercials with cleaning the ducks)
he/she seems pretty fluffy this morning. have a few touch up spots but is eating and drinking. I am still going to keep a eye on it to make sure it is not off.

I have 3 due to hatch in 3 days...I hope they hatch. My last batch of 7...6 died in shell...when I eggtopsied, there was a lot of liquid in there. i ran the lock down at 65 percent humidity... so i think it was too humid. So these 3 I am going to do it dry. I have 47 percent humidity in there. I have a bad feeling that it is too low. ugg..

This will probably make some people mad...

Apparently my humidity went to low during incubation at some point, cause mine were shrink wrapped.

Any ways, after the fourth and fifth had trouble hatching, I helped and then I went ahead and opened the eggs that did not pip. 2 were internally pipped and 1 not.

I am not saying this will work, recommended or whether I just got lucky. I knew that there was a problem...shrink wrapped.

One internal pip was upside down and already dead, the other two were Gluttony and Sloth. Gluttony had a bloated stomach, I am guessing she swallowed her fluid since she had not internal pipped but was trying to move and was cheeping. once I got her membrane damp she pipped and was out in less than 2 hours. Sloth took forever it seemed. She was in no hurry and laid there with half a shell. I was worried that she hadn't absorbed the yolk, so left her be with the occasionally shining flashlight to get a reaction. Several hours later, she was out. She is still sleepy but eating, drinking and interacting with the others. Gluttony's is doing well also, the bloating has gone down and eating, drinking and interacting with the others.

AGAIN, I am not saying this will work, recommended or whether I just got lucky, but I was sick with worry.
