on day 4 i candled my eggs and only 1 had anything forming in it. day 8 I candled and 4 have obvious veins. Typically I wont candle til day 10 for the first time. This time i'm to excited and curious to leave the eggs alone.
Hopefully you'll have better luck with yours than i've had with mine so far.![]()
I usually start candling on day 3, and candle about 2 eggs everyday after just to watch them develope. I don't usually candle every egg until days 10 and 18, in which case I take out the bad ones. But I'm only going to wait until day 7 this time. And I have a lot less than I usually hatch, I usually hatch about 35 eggs at a time, but this time it's just my shipped eggs and the 3 of mine which makes 15, so it's much quicker to take a peek at all of them if I wish.
OK, I just candled them. Her eggs are almost white so I can see into them perfectly. 8 look the same as when I reiceved them, they are to the point where I would be confident throwing them out, but I will wait anyways, 2 are developing blood rings (quiters), and 2 are developing normally. Out of curiousity, should I complain? I don't want to sound rude at all, and I realize it's a gamble so I keep telling myself I can't complain, but she shipped them over a holiday weekend and I only got 2 of hers developing. I'll crack the eggs that aren't developing and check for fertility on day 7, I'm pretty disappointed with the 2, for all I know they may not hatch. If I were to complain, I wouldn't demand anything, I would simply tell her my situation and mention that I'm a bit disappointed in 2 developing embryos for the $40 I payed. What do you guys think? Should I let it go, or mention something to her?
