Who's Waitin'?

I get mine from cackle on april 29. 5 white silkies, 5 Buff Orpington, 5 Easter eggers. All bantams...can't wait

My 3 chicks are coming from a hobby farm about an hour from here. They're due to hatch April 27, and I'll drive up and get them a day or two later. I keep picturing my 3 little eggs, and what's going on inside them!

My husband will be out of town for the first week that I have my chicks. Hmm, is that brooder really going to stay in the basement, or will it make its way to the family room, with me?

Oooooh it's like waiting for christmas when your a little kid. It's an exciting,

frustrating,

anxious time.

We are waiting til the week of May 2nd for 50 cornish cross, 25 replacement rainbow layers, 25 Turkeys, 6 ducks, 4 geeses, and a partride in a pear tree.

I hate the wait , but I love the excitement. Anticipation.

Then comes June with 25 more replacement layers. I can't help it I'm addicted to babies.

Yesterday I went to TSC to get a few final things for the chicks and they had some bantams in there (we didn't buy any...very tempting though

). They were soooo cute and the kids just watched them nap, and then they woke up and started eating. Love it! We get our chicks tomorrow or friday. But now we are extremely excited. Can't wait!!!

Mine shipped from Cackle on Monday. We've been having some rain/snow for the last few days, and right now, we're without running water. I really could have gotten along just fine without all of these fun things to distract me from the waiting game.

I have been waiting two weeks just to find out when mine will ship next month. It is driving me BANANAS!!

The fact that they still dont know when they will ship makes me think it wont be till the end of May. I definitely dont think I can wait that long. We go to TS to get supplies and seeing the babies makes it worse. I might have to wait till chick days are over before I go back. Supposed to hear today when they ship but they've been saying that for a week!.

Anyway, good luck to all that are getting theirs this week!

We moved to Tucson a year ago..it took us 9 mths in a vacation rental to find a property we liked..it is now 3 mths later and we are still getting settled..I stepped out on faith and ordered chicks totally not being ready..but I knew unless I did it, I would have to wait due to the hot summer...and me hating heat. lol So it is a love - hate relationship with having them not arrive for another couple of weeks..I have SO MUCH to do..but I want them now!

The better hlaf was out digging fence trenches at 6:30 this morning..then he left for the shop..every morning 4 feet get done.
