I have a mixed flock but keep a breeding flock of Buckeyes: 1 Rooster; 1 Cockerel; 1 hen & 7 pullets.

I have cuckoo marans and Favorrels

In a week I will also have Blue Wheton or Wheton Amerucanas

In the spring I plan on getting: Buckeyes, Delawares and or Mabe I hope more Marans, Blue Orphingtons, or Buff Brahms

I got 2 8 week deleware pullets Friday, now I'm reading that they are a rare breed. I may have to find someone with a cockeral of a different line to breed with. I also have 2 Buttercup pullets I got at the same time, may have to get a roo there too. The Breeder also had blue andylusians (spelling is probably all wrong), may have to get some of those, but they told my they were realy flighty, that's why I didn't get any.

Gorgeouse Buckeye rooster! I guess I havent ever seen the roosters, just the hens.


I used to have Anconas, which are critically endangered.

Now the only birds I raise that I would consider rare are Dutch bantams. You can only find them at a few hatcheries, and those are usually crossed with OEG's.
I never see them at shows, though, a heard alot of places around the country they have them, just not here I guess.
