In my homemade incubator there is no fan, and I don't do anything special without it. It just means that there may be a hot spot or two.

was your Incubating a success? If so can i see your homade one?

Yeah, my incubator is working alright, other than a few minor issues. It has gone through a few minor changes, but the light bulb is mounted on the side of a styrofoam container. I have a water bottle to increase humidity and provide some mass for helping moderate the heat.

Install a fan if you want, I would recommend you do as it provides more even heat and helps avoid hot/cold areas...

what is your hatch rate?

My hatch rate is lower than I would like. I think it is about 40%, but there are a few factors besides a fan that could be causing that.

For my next model I'm looking at adding a fan.
