i have 30 some hens and about 10 roosters. 2 are pennded up because they are aggressive to my hens and other roos. well i have 30 some hens and i only get 2-6 eggs a day.

please tell me why they aint laying!!!!!! ):

do i need to get rid of roos?
give them a high protein poultry supplement??

i have months old all the way to 3 years old..... some are even up to 8.....

all different ages.

Are the temps high where you are? Heat does affect their laying.

Is this a sudden stop in laying, or have you had this problem for awhile?

what is their diet? I have the same problem right now, but we are losing daylight, and it is cooling down here.

I'd get rid of all but 2 roos. I noticed a drop in my egg production when my juvenile roos(4 extra roos) become sexually mature....the hens don't need all that chasing during the hottest time of the year. Plus, they may be starting to molt? I've noticed egg production goes down a little during the molt.

This is why I am killing five roos this weekend, along with any older ----especially any 8 year olds

---- hens who no longer lay.

alright. where getting rid or most of em...... they have layer crumbles.. along with oyster shells... and 16% protein... do they need higher protein.

They're STINGY!!! I have one hen I am waitiing on to lay!!!! EVERYONE else is laying, guess who's not!!!!
