*****!!!!!!!???????why aint they laying*****!!!!!!!???????

That was my first thought that maybe they are hiding their eggs or a preditor such as a snake could be eating the eggs. Snakes swallow the eggs whole.

How many hens are at their prime (1 - 3 years old)?
Are they good laying breeds that can lay 5 or 6 a week?

Is it possible they are hiding eggs?
Is it possible a snake or other critter is stealing eggs?
Is it possible they are eating some of their own eggs?
Is it possible they are molting or broody?

i have 2 hens that are at their prime.

i dont think so.
no nothing can get in the coop.
now that could be a possiblility. when ever i drop an egg(accidentily) they all go for it.
they might be molting but it doesnt look like it.
no there not broody.

Get rid of the roosters to give the hens/pullets a chance to relax, even if you just put them all in a separate pen and put them with their hens just for when you want fertilized eggs. Give the girls layer feed if they're over 16 weeks, but note the extra protein can be harmful to the young ones tho, plus oyster shell, and I give mine a handful of catfood for a treat to up their protein. Some pullets will start laying about 15-20 weeks and some take longer to start, depending on the breed. The hens that are over 2 years old might only be laying one or 2 eggs a week because egg production drops drastically after the second year for most breeds. You might want to cull those if you want a better %
