Why are costco brown eggs so incredibly dark?

These Costco pasture raised organic eggs literally look like maran eggs even though they're laid by RSL's. I cannot get over how gorgeous they are despite them tasting disgusting like nothing compared to my flocks eggs.

The fat dark ones are the store eggs and the skinny blue and brown ones are mine. The photo doesn't show just how dark those eggs are. I'm genuinely in shock because I haven't been to the store in a long time.

Mine laid a medium brown egg with speckles (not common) no where near as dark as a BCM

I super overpay and buy vital farms right now until mine start laying and theyre also very nice looking and darker like that! Maybe it has something to do with diet? Interesting find!!

Shell color is not affected by diet, but by genetics. The insides definitely reflect diet.
