for some reason a few of my chickens are panting and letting their wings down? I have water in their coop and they know how to use it. What’s up?

Try a mister too. I use one, and I also give mine 'popsicles." (fruit cocktail and water frozen into muffin trays) On really hot days, I hose down the run really well before I turn the misters on. It really helps.

White GA. Up north of Marietta right? They are trying to get rid of excess body heat. The above suggestions are good. Ice in the water changed a few times a day. A shallow tray to cool their feet. And tons of ventilation. Is the coop in the shade? Covering with shade cloth or a similar breathable fabric will help. Privacy fence screen works well and is less costly. A mister will help if your average humidity is below 70%. I live near Savannah, humidity here is 90%, misters just don't work.

Didn't think of high humidity! I am in the high desert, and we often have humidity in the single digits, so misters help a lot here.
:D I tried a port-a-cool in a workshop here. It raised the humidity so much that when the night temp dropped to about 75 it rained on my bench.:he
