Why are my chickens not laying yet

Your Comet should start laying any time now, the other breeds take longer. Some take 6-8 months.

No, don't worry! I also have 24 week old BR, RIR AND gold spangled hamburg and only the BR is laying so far, she started at 18wks somehow! and I have 18 week old SLW, and BO that turned 18 weeks that just started growing tiny waddles this week and the buff is still very pale in face so I am not betting in them laying for a good 2 more months. My silkie is closer to 20 weeks but they hold out long more like 30 ish weeks, a cochin that is bigger than my BR and I don't know what she's waiting for but she sure does love to eat EVERYTHING! She's been bright red with full waddles and comb since I got her on July 27 and she was 20 weeks or so then. I give up being impatient, lol. I'm just waiting for the day when I open the box and see more than our 1 daily egg, lol.

Thanks for the information everyone. Patience is not one of my virtues but I will work on it. My RI has full waddles and her comb is extremely red and has been for quite a while so I was becoming concerned.
