Why are my eggs not hatching?

ive been incubating eggs in a DIY incubator for the past 23 days now. All it’s made up of a old fish tank with a light and wet cloth for humidity. The temp of the eggs is 40 for all 3 of them and the humidity is 65-70%. When candled, the eggs look fine except for the biggest One because their is no visible air sac. Is there something I’m doing wrong?

40c? You've cooked them.

ETA your humidity is high, too, if that's what it's been the whole time.

But they’re still developing though. But it would make sense if I killed them

theyre not exactly 40, one is 39 (the one without the air sac) and the other 2 are at 38

Where are you measuring temp at. That should be the top of the egg, like if you set a thermometer on top of them.

Did you turn them properly during incubation? What was humidity during incubation? What kind of thermometer are you using?

Also, the humidity was always 40-50. On day 18 I changed it to 60-65

I have the sensor in the middle of the batch. I turned them 3 times a day until day 18

Temperature should be taken at the top of the eggs
