Hello!
Today I picked up 4 GLW from a lady from craigslist, and she claims that they are 16 weeks old, but they are WAAAY to small to be 16 weeks. They look like they are 8 weeks old! Could she be lying about the age? ( I don't think so though...) Or could they be bantam GLW? Not getting enough food?
I have NOOO idea what it could be! I can get some pictures tomorrow, but it seems like kind of a waste since I bought 4 of them at $5 a piece!
What should I do?

Last week I ordered two chicks from a feed store, an Ameraucana (which I think is an Easter egger :/) and a silver laced Wyandotte, they were "a couple days old" and today I picked up a buff orpington that's "a couple days old" and my SL Wyandotte and Orpington are the same size. also confused, maybe they grow slower? They said it was NOT a bantam.

I have had Wyandottes in the past and they grew at the same rate as my other large fowl.

My golden lace seems to be growing slower. She is slim and agile. I have to look at her on her own because the brahmas are huge compared to her. Not a fair comparison. I do think my silver lace boy, RIR and barred rock were all bigger at the same age.

As for what you should do just feed them and wait. If it was a nutrition issue it is still early enough to remedy. If not then maybe they're just dainty. Anyway 20 bucks isn't that bad of a deal reguardless.:)

Do you have pictures you can post?

You can tell the feathering is more consistent with the older bird's, but the size is more like my orpington
