So some of the hens are 1 year old. The others are 7 months along with the rooster. Is the roo sick or younger then the hens?
The age difference is maybe why they attack him, they also probably attack him bc/if he is newSo some of the hens are 1 year old. The others are 7 months along with the rooster.

We have some spaces to be out of site. Some of our chickens are being injured from fighting with the rooster. we have two feeders and a giant waterer. He isn't ill, and no one has mites or lice. They are eating layer feed as well. He's an adolescent cockerel, and your adult hens aren't impressed. Is anyone being injured? Do you have lots of space, places to be out of sight, and multiple feeders and waterers?
And those production red type hens can be pretty tough cookies...
Aside from that, is he ill, do your birds have mites or lice? Are they eating layer, or a higher protein all-flock type diet?
