Why are my hens not laying?

I have Partridge Rocks and they are 30 weeks old and not 1 Egg, what can I do?

I am not sure what are you feeding them...what is your weather like where you live...with the days getting shorter I am not getting as many as I do when the days are longer. Also most start laying when they are 5 mths old, but yours might take longer.

Im feeding layer feed and the days are about 10 hours of sunlight.

Pullets and hens need at least 14 hrs. of daylight to be stimulated into laying. You can give them more "daylight" by setting up a light with a timer to come on before dawn.

They should be on layer feed only after they start laying. It is recommended to continue with starter/grower until that time. Also most studies suggest 14 hours of day light for hens to lay. With the shortening days and cold weather moving in they will naturally begin to lessen in their productivity.

Put your girls back on a starter/grower and give them time. You can also put in a timer and a light to come on in the morning around 4am to lengthen their daylight hours. It is not recommended to add light at night to extend their day because they need the natural act of going to roost at sunset.

Some pullets just start to lay later than others. Most of my pullets are not laying yet and are 27 weeks old now.

Give them time. The eggs will come. Then you may find yourself drowning in them.

A few months ago, someone gave their chickens a little "talk". She said "this weekend I'm having some people over. The menu will be potpie or omelettes, you decide!"

Buff, i remember that talk! I need to have me alittle talk with my (almost) ladies...it's been 7 months, 2 weeks now...

Being as how we are so far north, I imagine it's the daylight. We bought materials to install a light...it's on my honey help me do list! This weekend, hopefully, we'll have more light in there!

I have two barreds and two buffs, just laying three-four weeks.
the light lamp is for 730 am, to keep from waking my mom up until 830 am.
the night light is 5 pm to 830 pm, when we go to our beds to rest, read, watch dvds.
so far three to four eggs a day, and it seems to be working.
dawn is 710 and dark is 5 pm.
also they wanted a ton of oyster shell and grit, they eat shell like candy bars.... offered yours any shel?

My hens also are not laying at all. Last winter they lay just fine all winter. Some of my young hens (just hatched this spring) started laying then stopped too. It has been two weeks and not a single egg. They are being fed layer pellets and game bird feed. I was getting 15-18 dozen eggs a week and now nothing!!!! My husband wants to get rid of them since they are only costing money now and nothing in return. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
