Why Are People Mean?

i know the feeling i used to work overnight as a security/front desk person at a timeshare resort. Its sad i would rather spend another 15 months being deployed then work retail or a customer service job again. There was always people smiling to your face then throwing you under the bus when you were gone. Just so they can get a bigger room, or some type of vouchers, etc.

Civilians, the general public, will drive you crazy if you let them!

Redhen what is really weird is I finally figured who one person was and I saw this person yesterday and they said nothing to me and were very friendly.
Go figure.

I know as a parent if someone had said that to me about my child I would have known them immediately and said something to them. She said nothing.

Just weird.

Your story reminded me of an incident when I worked at a Aquarium Shop and Garden Centre.

One customer kept coming back to the shop getting free goldfish as she kept telling the staff they had died and it was out fault. No other customers had returned with this problem, and the fish on sale were all healthy. I figured she must be taking care of them wrong. I tried to help her by asking questions about her fish tank set up. etc She then changed all her story and said she wanted compensation as this sick goldfish had killed all her expensive Koi Carp in a POND. I was so polite and patient with this woman.......I am just that kind of guy. I said we could maybe do something if she brings in a sample of her pond water so we can do a FREE water test.

Then she goes crazy.....saying she is going to go to all the newspapers telling everyone how the shop is conning people and abusing animals if I don't give her free vouchers and fee koi carp right now! Everyone is looking......I am so embarrassed and ask if she would like to speak to the store manager in her office in private. She then stormed off swearing and shouting.

I was very shaken up. About 20 minutes later I get a call to go to the manager office. The lady had gone to the manager and told her I had been threatening her and swearing at her in front of her child!!!!!!! The sad thing was the manager made me apologise to the woman while she handed her lots of free gift vouchers as an apology from the store! The woman was looking at me with a nasty grin on her face. I was so upset about all that. I even got a disciplinary from the manager on my record, even though the other female assistant working with me told the manager it was not true.

I left that job a few months later.

That is BS jak! That woman knows how to work the system and made you the bad guy. Too bad for the store they lost money to this woman and lost a good employee.

Well it all clicked this morning. I think better after a good nights sleep. After this co-worker quit on Monday I heard she was going to go work at an eatery in town.
Well guess who works at this eatery? The people who accused me! Don't have to hit me with a 2x4. *shaking head*
Now that I figured it out I know what happened and I know what to do. Nothing, but watch my back.

people are just crazy. They have nothing better to do than stir the pot generally because they are unhappy. The sad thing is that they bring drama in from any angle they can

Misery loves company is why people are mean. People are crazy. This person had nothing better to do but try to jeopardize your job.

Funny part is one person I spoke with about it away from the store asked me about it yesterday. They finally figured out who these people were and they told me they were whacko's and just ignore them. I had forgotten it until they brought it up.
