Why are Roos literally terrorizing my Broody hen

Pity I am in Wales and you are in the States or I would loan you my dog, Jared. Skinny little Border Collie who loves chickens, protects them, shares his bed with them....but won't tolerate aggression.....he'd sort them out! Or my overgrown (even for a Brahma) boy Goliath....they'd take one look at him and scram......

Catch them, clip their wings and return them to the owner.

Hope YOUR girl hatches a gigantic rooster

WAles, huh? Too bad is right. I'd love to borrow your dog. Hmmm....makes me think. Is there a dog that would be a good gaurdian on just an acre of land. I know Great Pyrenese are huge and need a good amount of space, so that probably wouldn't be a wise choice. I had a friend who had a Border Collie, but she rescued him and he was chained most of his three year life, so he had no training and always escaped her fence and ran off. Is this common of them? Or was it just his upbrining? I wonder if they could make due with an acre only.

Let your hubby kill them. The neighbors obviously don't give a crap, and they would make you a nice soup!

I'd certainly do something about his roosters and wing clipping would stop them coming into your property (as would turning them into rissoles).

Border Collies are one of the most intelligent dogs there are and are easy to train, but they do have a herding instinct, so aren't always the best around small children. But they are VERY active and would be delighted to run around madly after anything that you told them to send off.

I DO hope you can solve your problem,

Sandie
