Why are there so many bugs in this new packet of food? Can a hen eat them?

We brought a new packet, sealed of food 2 weeks back, and today after opening it, found that the inside is full of these brown? Small bugs. Are they safe to eat

I've seen them before but thought it came from the house and feasted on the food not that it came from the food itself. There were also not this much!

Is the food spoilt then?

I would return that bag for replacement.

The birds can eat the bugs, but a bag of feed full of bugs is a bag of bug poop.

OK thanks. It'll take a couple of days though so she'll have to manage till then. The food is fine I think. No smell or anything

If you can't take it back right away they might not let you return it at all.

Its already been 2 weeks so I doubt they'd have let the bag be exchanged. I meant buying a new bag

They're likely grain mites or weevils. Technically harmless (the chickens will be fine if they eat some of them), but the bugs are eating and pooping on the feed in the bag.

Will they die when placed in the sunlight?
It's 102 f here if that helps.

Freezing will kill them, sun will encourage the eggs to hatch.
