Why are they acting weird?

Yes, I watch those kitties and they watch for my back door to open.
I had a coyote snap up my little dog when I took her out to go to the bathroom. Tuits was only like 10ft. away from me. Thank you for caring about the kitties too.
I try to watch these birds. They don't stray far. They've always been good about staying close. This has been a little to close. My chickens, 2 roosters, 2 hens, have almost gotten under my feet. I will invest in cameras.

Sounds like they are sticking close to you, maybe they know your their protection. When my rooster sounds the alarm my birds always run to the back gate like they know it’s close to us.

My 2 ducks and 4 chickens have been acting strangely (for them) for 2 days. The ducks will NOT get in their little blue pool, which they love. All 6 of the birds are hanging around home base. They even went to roost early. I don't know what's going on with these sweet birds. Frankly, I too, feel a little weird.
Any ideas anyone?

The electric fencing sounds like a really good idea. Whatever is around and watching them, will probably strike really soon. It is probably closer than you think.

I don't believe I'd let them free range during the day. I've seen coyotes as well as foxes out in the day time here in Georgia and there are always flying predators everywhere.
