My son has 10 chickens. 6 of them are around the age that they should be to start laying eggs soon. I'm in the backyard a lot and have noticed for the first time a number of them are in the coop scratching and moving the straw around. They're doing that, not only in the nesting boxes, but all over. He did just add more straw to it yesterday. Is there a purpose to why they're doing that?
