Why are they taking so long?!

I'm sure it's normal, but I just need some reassurance. I have 5 eggs pipped, they either pipped late last night or this morning... but they're made no progress since and they've gotten quiet. Are they ok?

It can take sometimes 24 hours or longer for the chick to hatch after a pip. You have to remember that a chick will be tired and needs to take breaks and rest. What you can do is cheep to the eggs through your bator. In nature this is what the mama hen does for her hatching eggs.

I know its hard waiting so when you get tired of cheeping to your eggs just get on BYC and study up. Hey good luck and have some fun.
