Why are YOU on BYC forums?

The big reason I choose BYC especially over other forum options is that it is filled with a LOT of people, posts, conversations, etc. There is not a subject skipped around here, and there's always somewhere to post. Plus it is good for business too. . . Auctions and the sort.

Well, I was here as a lurker for the longest time...just reading & gathering information.

THEN, it became an obsession... an addiction...you just CAN'T stop coming here!!!!

Wow!

There are sooo MANY different reasons people are on here. It's great to see how people can come together despite all our differences, which I know from experience we have alot. (posting on political content) lol BYC definately sets a higher standard as far as forums go. It's in large part because of the creators, mods/admins, and most definately the people.

I started here last year being a new chickie momma and had a little roo with a crop issue. I got such wonderful advice I stayed. I have learned soo much here and try to pass that on. I tell everyone who has chickens or are thinking about getting them to join. I enjoy the stories and pictures here. I would never have dreamed of hatching my own but you all gave me the confindence to do it. I have recieved eggs from the egg swaps of breeds that I probably would not have access to around here and taught me how to ship my eggs. You all have made me laugh made me cry made me outraged at injustises that have happened to someone. But mostly you all have become friends that at the end of the day I can check in and just say hi and know that someone out there cares. Also you never look at me as crazy for having chickens and we can all be crazy chicken ladies or guys together.

Well, I've actually used the BYC forums for about 2 years. When I got my first chickens, I got 2 crested polish, 1 Rhode island/New Hampshire red, a Mexican turkey, and a Dominique. Now, I'm addicted permanently.

So, for their care, I found this site and what do you know.

)

It is the amazingly wide demographic here that keeps bringing me back. I would never get the chance to talk to people from such a wide range of view points and lifestyles as I do here.....

Thanks all!

And MFB? I'm lifting up my shins outta the way!!!

I can't believe I just now caught that! I must be slipping in my old age. But you are NOT one of those that needs to watch thier shins.

Besides, it clearly states in the rules somewhere "No shin kickin'". I haven't seen it, but I'm pretty sure Nifty's got it in there somewhere.

I was right about needing more info, I was hit with a barrage of things to know on two threads I made only yesterday

And this section of the forum is cool
I see that you can be chicken crazy and still have an opinion on other things too

I don't remember how I found the board but have been a member since the days of the EZ board. I do remember that the informatation and reassurance I got the night I was up at 3AM fretting about my first incubation cemented my membership. Great people.
