Why can’t Fred (my roo) eat like a normal chicken??

Thank you!! All the rest of my roosters have tall single combs, this goof ball is the only one with a comb to hold a muffin lol. I don’t even know what kind of comb it is! It’s bizarre.

It's a muffin comb. Just kidding! I could be wrong, but I think that is a rose comb.

I have to put it on his head, he’ll shake the muffin off and then eats it.

When I crumble them up, or just place them in his feeder, he eats every bit.

But ... you don't "have to" put it on his head, obviously, since he will eat it if you just feed it to him like a normal treat. This is just a silly game you play.

Yep! My other roosters are too serious to play with. Fred’s a good sport.

It’s good for practicing self control and listening to the human when you want to do something the human doesn’t want you to do. Whether it is wait to eat a treat placed temptingly on your nose or not chase a squirrel into traffic and get hit by a car.

But. Uh. Yea maybe some people take it a bit overboard…guilty of that I am. Tho Maxine was super good at this particular trick.
