Why can't adults have medicated feed?

Can anyone tell me, will medicated feed kill internal parasites in adult chickens? Will it kill leg mites?

I'm pretty sure the medicated chick feed is just a small dose of amprolium in order to help the chicks develop immunity against coccidiosis. If you have an actual outbreak of cocci in your adult flock you'd want to treat them with the actual amprolium (Corid).
