I just keep walking in there and staring through the window...looking and looking and hoping to see a little pip. Well, its not time! It is Day 15 and the buttons arent even due to start until tomorrow! Temps were wacky so I may not even see anything for a couple extra days...
HOWEVER, its like I am not in control of myself...off I go to check in there again!

I drive myself crazy!
It is Day 15 for the buttons and Days 15, 14, and 12 for the chickens. This is the reason why I shouldnt torture myself with staggered hatches....look at how many days I have to stare into the incubator!

It is just one of those things my serama eggs are on day 18 so tomorrow they should start pipping, I just want to stare at them. Like that is going to help ha ha. Maybe that is why some of them don't hatch If I saw big eyes staring at me I think I would stay in the egg also:lol:

we do such things because we are afraid we might miss something.....it's like baking cookies and cakes, we keep checking to make sure they are baking ok and not burning...lol.

One of these times you're GOING to see a pip...

Just keep yourself busy. I had two different sets of Button eggs in the incubator, almost 100 total. One pipped and hatched on Monday, then next on tuesday, the majority on Wednesday, nothing on Thursday, 10 more from Friday to Saturday. I had taken them out of the incubator on Wednesday thinking they were done when I heard PEEP PEEP PEEP coming from the eggs...

I would have lost 10 babies! Moral of the story... wait until you haven't had any activity for at least 2-3 days after the last hatch.

LOL...it is a very common affliction, I am afraid. If the whole world would leave me alone and let me I would just set up camp next to the bator at day one and not move until they are all hatched!!!!!

Good luck with the little ones.

LOL I've all but done exactly that! I set up my web cam to look into the incubator so I can watch on my computer monitor while I work. If I have to get up for any amount of time, I set the motion detector so the computer will make a noise and let me know if anyone is moving. LOL! It's so sad and my husband laughs at me. I'm on day 18 (Hatch day!) for my quail and it's just killing me. I keep seeing them rock back and forth but no pipping or peeping yet.

Ok - my 13yo is not going to make it to her 14th bday in one month! She waits until I'm trying to listen to the incubator and then makes a really soft "peep" noise!

She thinks she's being

I swear I have heard a soft peep out of one and am trying to figure out who it might be...
