Why did I bother??????

OMG...are they that old already, it was only like yesterday they were born. You will have to take photos so we can see how big they are.

Hi! See, I tend to go the other way. I told someone today they were almost 10-wks-old (they are as big as the Silkies), then came in and checked the calender and said "Oh Splat!" and felt terrible for the poor neglected deprived ducklings --- for all of 2 minutes. They are thriving! I'll have to move them before long, they tend to walk over the Silkies when they get to that size. The next group of ducklings will be old enough to go out then (and that Silkie pen is a good place to start them).
This afternoon was so pleasant (almost 60*) I took out the camera, but of course the battery went dead before I got around to the ducklings.

Well, I will look forward to seeing them now they have grown a bit. I got my new Incubator today so I should have babies in January. I will be hatching 5 Pekin and 3 of Fionas.. I cant wait to see what her babies turn out like. Im hoping to get silver or brown...but ill take anything really. The reason I say brown coz shes got brown feathers mixed in with her silver. I guess it will be a waiting game. She has laid more or less every day since I got her...the other two are holding back untill Spring I think!!

we are in wisconsin and it has been -15 for a few days in the AM and I never put out geese/ducks in. they have a choice if they would like, but they are always outside sitting in the snow. I feed am and pm and only give water in the morning and dump all of the bowls at night so they are ready in the am. Had my ducks locked up last winter and will NEVER do that again, messy and they were all gross looking without having large amounts of water to swim and clean themselves in.
