why do chickens cluck loudly when they are laying an egg?

whhy do hens cluck almost frantically when they are about to lay an egg?

Mine do this after they've laid it. I think they're bragging to the other ladies.

Wouldn't you scream if you had to give birth everyday?

But I remember reading somewhere that the chicken's reproduction is loud as a warning, so that predators know they are on alert or something like that.
