Why does one of my hens split from the flock, follow me around like a puppy every time I go outside, yet pecks the heck out of me if I try to pet her? Why does my rooster get uppity with me and a butt kicking at least 3 times a week, yet never learns I will win every time? I love him to death, but his name is Useless for a reason. Had a blown out tire today, and the AAA guy came really fast and was really nice, and I felt bad I didn't have any cash to give him a tip, but i did have a couple eggs (a Marans and an OE) so I offered and he took them... then asked so why are the eggs I buy in the store white? Do they bleach them? lol!

Because she is fuzzy and cute and I want hug her, and squeeze her until her eyes bug out and she makes funny noises! Hmmm.. Maybe that's why she won't let me hold her any more?

Why has several of the birds suddenly decided to roost on my porch instead of the coop. They keep coming back even after I chase them off, send the dog out to chase them off, and even get the broom after them when they refuse to budge because they know I won't hurt them. What's worse they like to roost right by the blasted door so I have to slowly open it to keep from whacking them with it. I don't feed them on the porch, The coop is nice and cozy and the porch is drafty.
