Why do my buff silkie chicks? ( Pics added)

Yes they are from ideal, I know they arent or will be SQ just my sweet little fluff butts..LOL

I was just worried if this was a infection in the skin or just something the buff colored chicks get.

I think of the 3 I have I have 2 roos a 1 pullet. Time will tell but from watching them grow from day 1 to now their attitudes and the way they act and hold themselfs gives them away...LOL

I would love to see pics of yours countrymom! I am in no way in a hurry just whenever you have time. Mine also have alot of black intermixed into their wing feathers.

I am so sorry it has taken me so long. I FINALLY got out tonight with the camera and took some pictures of our birds. So I took some of the buffs and some of the others we got from Ideal - in particular the ones we like a lot. Both of the buff chicks had very pale skin coloring when they were babies. I believe both of them are possibly hens. They are around 5 months of age and all from Ideal. We decided after no luck hatching decent stock from breeders just to go with Ideal and have fun mixing colors. I am including some pics of others we have so you can see how the buffs lack.

So here is the tiny buff chick. She lacks feathers on her feet and has a lot of black intermixed in her feathers.

Buff Chick number 2 has less black and better feathered feet. IMHO I also think this one is a bit brassier like the reds we have...

they are very cute! So far my 3 only have black in their wing feathers. I have afriend who has nice reds that I thought could improve their offspring I also have some eggs incubating that has some nice buffs in them so if they hatch and I get a nice buff boy or girl I could also improve their offspring.

I knew ordering from ideal they would not be SQ but I am not planning on showing. I just love my silkies!!
