This is what we use. It is pricey, but worth it. Once you get the problem under control, you can just use the zymox as a preventative.And, once you get it cleared up, you have to keep an eye out for ear infections in the future.
I could catch them early by scratching my dogs ears at the base (below the ear hole) and listening for a sticky wet sound. Then I used the Zymox mentioned above and have not had a problem since. I have 3 toy poodles the before Zymox probably had an ear infection once every 6 months or so.
We tried to go cheap and my poor dog's ears got so itchy - we went back to it.
Before we tried zymox we got a script from the vet. It was effective too. So, you might want to go to the vet first and then use zymox as a routine to follow up vet care.
