why do my quail do this?

ok i will try to get a pic later but this is what she does,she puffs up like a turkey and it is a white coturnix. what is she/he doing?

She is probably trying to keep warm. Mine use to do it a lot. But mine were bobs not sure what breed you are raising. It is also kind of relaxing/way to get clean....chickens do it to...the puff up and then shake.

oh i am sorry i no chickens do it but she stays puffed up for a lonnng time not just shaking

Yah she is probably just trying to keep warm...or she could be going broody...my hens seem to do that when they go broody as well.
Could you maybe get a pic of the hen?

lol I know quail are some of the funnest little birds to watch. They way in which they interact with each other and how little they are...but they do have A LOT of energy
