Why Do People Buy Live Chicks From Breeders and Farm Stores‭?

You are allowed to defend your stock, but the law isn't very well defined.
Goshawks are protected, the mink isn't. The Falcons are, the weasels aren't.
It carries on something like that. I like the wildlife. I just wish they would hunt somewhere else.

This right here is much of the reason people keep chickens locked up 24/7.
Most birds of prey are protected everywhere. You do have the ability to trap animals there but your saying you’d rather not? Even if your losing chickens?

I did mention in an ealier post that these are not my chickens. When I got here, the people who decided 'oh I say, do lets get animals' pretty much lost interest in the place and the animals got neglected. So the breeds weren't chosen by me. I got what I got.
I get paid to take care of the animals, put up the fences, build the shelters, care for the sick, and keep an eye on the place while the owners do 'other things'.
How long have you been taking care of these birds?
Where did you live before that and did you have chickens there?
