Why do people cross breed there chickens?

I agree with the above, but lean mostly to combining traits of one with another.

That said, I've had one heck of a time creating my vision: the Yellow Labrachickendor.

For example, I either end up with the terrible shedding of the lab or the constant pooping of a chicken. Someday I hope to totally perfect the breed to share with the world!!!!

Every chicken breed originated from the crossing of red jungle fowl, so even pure breeds are crosses.
