Apparently around where I live is a dumping grounds for unwanted kittens. A few years back I found a kitten whom I rescued (later named Jules; she died a few months ago- hit on the road. She was the best cat ever). Last night, I found a kitten on the road just kind of going around in circles, staying in one place. It's very friendly and appears to be pretty healthy. Eyes and ears look clear, besides a little earmites. She's either real chubby or has some worms. Looks to be about 2, maybe 3 months I would guess. (And yes I already checked to make sure she didn't belong to somebody else near where I found her). I'm currently debating on whether to take her to the vet but small animal care is very costly so I might just deworm her myself (we spent 800 just to get one cat neutered). I already have earmite medicine. That's the thing though, is that people will just abandon a cat somewhere even though they're relatively healthy. But even if they weren't it is still inexcusable. It just makes me wonder why and how a person does this. It's just irresponsible and careless.
Here's a picture.

Such a cutie. Check around your area for low cost vetting for animals, around here, several of the animal shelters have hours that you can bring your animals in to see the vets that are there for the shelter animals. Here, you can get a cat spayed and all kitten shots for around $100 through the low cost options.

Yes I will have to figure out where I need to go for that. I will be spaying her, giving rabies/distemper shots once she reaches the appropriate weight/age. But for today, I'll deworm and treat earmites with what I have. And haha yes, more than likely she'll be staying here with me. Cats are drawn to me like magnets... or is the other way around?

I have 7 cats, I can sympathize. If you want to give me your general location I can see if I can find some low cost solutions for you.

Looks like a nice cat! One thing everyone should do is something called trap neuter and release. There are millions of stray cats and it's not healthy for the cats or the environment to have such a large population. I'm not saying get her spayed and then release her, but definitely make getting her spayed/neutered a priority just in case she gets out.

Try calling your local pet supply store, Tractor Supply, call your local Animal shelter, & search on-line for local, low-cost shot clinics. You should be able to find a group that will work within your budget & schedule.

People dump animals because they can & they're too stupid & lazy to drive them to a shelter...most of which are disgracefully over populated because people are too stupid, lazy & irresponsible to either spay/neuter or keep their pets inside.

There are exceptions to that broad, sweeping picture, granted, but not many in my experience.
