Why Do People...(insert pet peve here)

I brew sweet tea for my sweetie and unsweet tea for me. I am southern but I just never got into the sugar in my tea thing. I like sweet tea, I just like unsweet better.
Other than brands and types of tea, the amount of tea leaves, the time the tea leaves stay in the water, and how hot the water is while the tea is brewing makes all the difference. I also like to dissolve the sugar in boiling water then brew tea in the simple syrup.

Why do people.... drive slow in the passing lane on the highway? Don't they know it's illegal to travel in the passing lane, especially if they are impeding the flow of traffic?
Why do people .... drive so slow 45- 50 mpg........ what's that last 5 miles really gonna do for you? The roads I drive have few passing lanes... if they would just go the speed limit, I wouldn't have to pass and they wouldn't make me late for work. what takes me 1/2 hr, ends up taking me 50 minutes... I have to leave an hour early for work because of all the people going so slow. Personally, I think it's rude, and they should pull over or at least go the limit if they have 20 cars backed up behind them..
(oh and when I do get to pass, don't you dare speed up! )

Yes, I have lots of driving pet peeves... if people would just go the speed limit, I wouldn't have anything to complain about.

I wish my van got 45-50 MPG by going 5 MPH less than the speed limit....

Why do people act all friendly when they want something and blow you off when they don't? I mean I am not the sharpest tool in the shed by a long shot but I am not an idiot either. It really crawls allover me when someone acts like they are/want to be a friend and then once you say no or don't do/give what they ask/want they just blow you off. But the real bite is when they try to come back and try it again as if I was either too dumb to catch it the first time or enough time has passed that I have forgotten about it.

As much as I want to call them out on it I am playing the dumb angle: super nice, ignore or blow off said request and travel on.

If they were truly smarter they would have the ability to play their game better and not get caught so quickly.

Why do people go to the restroom at work and NOT was thier hands? YUCK! Then they go back to the work stations that people share and start typeing away..TALK ABOUT NASTY!

Why do people walk so slow in the halls? Why do popular girls think they are better than everyone else?
Ah, the ages-old question about popular girls...can't answer that one, but let me tell you, at least in my personal experience, they are seldom as popular or as talented later in life. Some are, sure, but I have had the personal privilege of knowing at least one who didn't pass muster later on. She was one of those people who was supposedly "the best", "the most likely to succeed", "a promising athlete" and "the child prodigy" as well as the most popular girl in school...then real life caught up with her in her mid-twenties. All her manipulations and being given everything by her family didn't play well later...I suppose she thought she would always have that. She wound up being a pregnant-out-of-wedlock waitress working the day shift (not the "money shift" either) at her family's restaurant, a pretty hard fall from what she *thought* she was, and what her family thought too. She was a bully in school and very good at manipulating her classmates to her whims...if you've read Harry Potter, think of a female Draco Malfoy...then think of him being a street-sweeper. Once in a while, life is fair to "the rest of us".

Why do people... See me walking my sis-in-law's pitbull down the street and say "Watch out, he might bite ya!" or "Ew! A pitbull! Keep it away from my sweet Muffin!" or "Does he bite?" when he's sitting there wagging his tail and trying to lick their hand.

With this and a few other select breeds I apply this saying slightly more "once bit twice shy" I am careful around all strange dogs, but pits and dobermans even more because of the unsocialized and the ones trained to be mean...... I realize there are good and bad pets and pet owners, so I will use caution. I would rather be proven wrong than be proven correct......
