Why do they act like they are starving?

I think partly they are being so annoying because they are not getting all the feed they need. You ask why they act like they are starving, well in a way they are. Scratch is not supposed to be more than 10% of any of your fowls diet. basically it is a treat and something to keep them busy.

get some regular game bird feed and put it out (far away from car

) and see if they calm down.

When I started giving my guineas bread and scratch feed they stopped being scared of me. All day and every day the stayed on my front porch hollering and using the bathroom. i could go run them off 20 times a day and they would be right back up there. So I sold those guineas and got some more. these i havent spoiled. Also you should give guineas gamebird (high protein) feed during the winter and even in the summer. If you can't get that use chicken layer pellets. Scratch feed will never fill up chickens or guineas. It lacks the nutrition they need. Also go to walmart and buy a cheap, yet large mirror and set it up where you want the guineas to stay (i guess in your backyard). This will keep them entertained all day!

Hope this helps
