vent is short for cloaca where EVERYTHING exits.

Especially the guano/droppings.... (combo of urine and feces), semen and ovum/eggs.

Wash it.

If your chick is really wet - use a blow dryer - they kind of like it. (not the highest setting)

I occasionally have had to bathe my chickens and even though they don't normally like to be held, they love a warm tub followed by a nice blow dry at the chicken salon aka my daughters bathroom.
