Why do they do this and What sex are these (will post pictures after sunrise)

We got the bouron late last spring so almost a year the other two should be a year already I believe or close to it. That is funny considering the red acts like a tom with the dance I seen it do for the other two and it gets between the other two and any danger that it see as danger like our rooster popcorn lol.

Great there goes my turkey breeding lol sighs oh well I just assumed because she had been mostly feed on pasture he(she) was just maturing slowly. I just looked up turkey tom pricing in my area they want 75-100 a piece I don't see my husband going for that anytime soon.

Yikes, I'm trying to give my extra tom away for free yet no takers.. :idunno Have you tried looking on craigslist? All of my turkeys are free ranged and I barely feed them.. They go wherever they want and forage all day and mature pretty quickly.

You have a Tri-Color Mottled Black tom. You cannot make a Tri-Color Mottled Black by crossing a Bronze (wild turkey) and a Black turkey. As he ages he will get more white spots every year.

The bourbon is a few months younger then the two narragansett . I have seen the red puff up and show off and dance for the other two and try to mate them he hasn't tried in awhile after the girls beat him up for his actions lol.
As others have pointed out, all three of your turkeys are hens. Hens can and do display just like toms especially if there is no tom around. I have found that my turkey hens are more likely to take issue with roosters than my toms will.

Lol that was craiglist lol
It was? Huh, Maybe you could buy some hatching eggs online or ask around locally like at a feed store or at a 4-H?

The people I got him from had told me that his parents were both half black and half wild.. Perhaps I miss heard? Or possible they didn't know.. Either way i'm still pretty happy with him. He sure is beautiful whatever he is..

Well I looked at hatchor I got the bouron from and it would be way cheaper to buy chicks from them. 10.85 and you have to order at least ten but I can get my feed store to order them and sale the extra so atleast then I can possibly get a male lol but not spend the hundred for one.

Wow. 100 for a Tom. I would do a dance for joy. Around my area toms are bringing about 25 to 30 dollars.

I have 12 extra toms right now.

Trio' s are about 150.

Guess its all about area
