Why do we stop getting notifications?

If I go back into one that it stopped, it starts sending them to me. But it stops sending them after I don't reply but am still giving reactions to posts and reading everything.

Whenever I pass up a notification I don't get anymore alerts, it's frustrating but it kinda makes sense. I would get annoyed if I was constantly getting alerts whenever someone posted, but if I got notified when a new page started I wouldn't mind.

Happens to all the threads I subscribe to. Then half a year later, one pops up in the notifications again randomly

I make a point of looking at my watched threads list a couple times a week to catch what I missed.

The best(only, IMO) way to keep up on threads of interest.

There is nothing wrong with the notification system.

If you don't check the alert/view the thread the alert is for you will not receive another alert/notification for that thread until you 'check/clear/view' the first alert/notification.


Read the above ten times out loud.
Rewrite it by hand on paper...it will help you to understand exactly what it means.


View the first alert / notification you receive for a particular thread if you want to receive another one.
