Why do you have ducks?

I have 4 Muscovy, 4 Silver Appleyards, 6 Pekins, 2 rouens(1 drake for each breed, the rest females) And 1 Black Swedish drake. I got all these for meat, eggs and pest control. I also have 1 female mutt duck and 4 runners(1 drake 3 hens) That I keep for eggs and because the ole' lady likes them. These are all pets and will grow old here but there offspring are destined for freezer camp, with exceptions for sale, trade and flock additions.

Now you know why I have ducks. I also love to sit and watch them.

I love ducks because they are just so enjoyable to have around, mine are 100% freerange and choose to stay at my place, its been heartbreaking at times and frustrating too but all in all i think they are awesome because they have so much character and attitude. I love my ducks and cant wait to get chickens too
