**Why do you LOVE you chickens?**

Reason I love my chickens.

1. They make me feel less stressed
2. I love holding them.
3. I love taking pictures of them.
4. I love when they eat out of my head.
5. I love when they follow me around.
6. They are so cute!
7. They trust me.
8. They make me happy.
9. I love when they run up to me as soon as I come home.

Well, let's see...what's not to like?

1. They make our breakfast.
2. They'll do it again tomorrow.
3. They are so funny when they run and flap their wings and think they are flying.
4. They are low maintenance. They put themselves to bed better than people, and stay in bed all night.
6. My rooster tells me when someone is in the driveway.
7. They compost the kitchen scraps.
8. They are just so darned cute.
9. You can let them out to play and they don't run away, and when they get tired or it's bed time, they will just go back inside, unlike...oh, anything.
10. Ok, they are as treat obsessed as my dog is, maybe more.
11. They are our entertainment, our "chicken TV" to watch, which is way better than anything on real TV, and will de-stress you at the end of the day.

For very little effort, compared to other animals, and despite illness or injuries have limited my activity, our chickens have thrived and managed to keep us entertianed and in eggs. Not a bad deal all around.

They are all about 2 1/2 months old. (All Hens)


I love them for all of the same reasons as you! Exept they aren't little fluffballs anymore... They are all feathered. But I love when I come to the coop door and they all rush over to see me

I have had my chickens for about 6 weeks or so. I am completely enchanted by them! These are some reasons why I love them:

1) They are absolutely hilarious!
2) Such personality!
3) A simple, relaxing hobby
4) The way they run is adorable
5) Every time an egg is laid, it's like a little miracle
6) I adore watching my children interact with chickens
7) Chicken TV is way better than anything on the boob tube
8) They are kept outdoors, so no mess inside the house


Many, many more reasons. I am so grateful for my li'l birdies!

Romeo here is a 4 week old gold laced cochin bantam roo. Just a little ball of energy.

I love my chickens because:
1. They are sooo CUTE
2. They sing to me
3. They follow me around-unlike my dogs
4. They do really stupid and funny things
5. They look funny when they have to turn therehead sideways to look at you
6. They jump in my lap
7. They think i'm ther mom
8. They are my familia
9. They eat spiders
10. They go BokBokBokBok Bacock
11. They don't require baths
12. When see something and they don't know what it is they stick their head out as far as they can
And i'm sure there are tons more!
I have 6 silkie hens and 1 silkie roo, 2 red star hens, 21 RIR hens, and 3 RIR roos, Thats a total of 32 chickens

I love my Silkies too! Whenever I see my Silkies, I just feel like God made the breed just for me. Sometimes I just sit in the yard with them. It cheers me up.

3. They let me pet and hold them
4. When my roo's find food they cluck to tell the hens tht he found food.
5. They always come up to me everytime they see me.
6. They are soo smart
7. They're inteeligant
8. They jump up on my lap sometimes
9. They eat all the gross bugs
10. They eat all the wood ticks in my woods
11. They take dust baths
12. They are my best friends/babies
13. They never stop being cute!
14. THey memorize my face
15. They think I'm there mom
And MUCH more! I love my chickens to death!!
