Why does Craigslist need a phone number for acc. I dont want to give.

Why I do not want to give it out. I saw a post on here before about a fake number but where do I get it.

I'm sure there has to be a way around that but just not sure how yet. (Still trying to figure it out. LOL) You put in your number and within seconds you'll receive an automated call with a pin number. You type in the pin number and enter and you're good to go. They do not publish your number that you've provided on C.L at all. You can use your home phone or cell phone.

I just don't use the account feature.
