Why does my Braubanter sound sound more like a duck than a chicken?

Does anyone know if this breed is supposed to honk instead of chirp? I couldn't figure out how to explain her odd chirp. The closest I could get was an old time car horn, then my mom said she sounds more like a duck than a chicken. She is so funny sounding, I can't help but laugh everytime she talks to me

I had barabanter and none of them made a honking noise. My guess is that the bird has a cleft palate. Look in the mouth and see if there is a big hole in the roof of the mouth. Could also be a defect in the syrinx.
